Munzy is an allowance app for families. Privacy was part of the concept from day one: Munzy is built to touch as little data as possible — especially because children use the app.
What data does Munzy collect?
Munzy collects no personal data and sends no data to us or to third parties. There is no user account and no sign-up.
Where is data stored?
All the content you create in the app — kids' profiles, tasks, balances, savings goals, and history — stays entirely in your own hands: locally on your device and, if you're signed in to iCloud, synced encrypted through your private iCloud. That gives you access on every device signed in with the same Apple ID.
Syncing runs exclusively through your Apple ID in your private iCloud — neither we nor any third party have access to it. Without an iCloud sign-in, everything stays local to your device only.
Tracking and advertising
Munzy contains no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics tools. No device IDs, location, or usage behavior are collected.
Purchases
Munzy offers an optional Premium upgrade as an in-app purchase (one-time purchase or subscription). Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple (App Store / StoreKit). We receive no payment data from Apple — only whether a valid purchase exists. Apple's own privacy terms apply.
Children
Munzy is aimed at families and is used by children together with their parents. Since no data is collected or transmitted, no data about children is gathered either.
GDPR & COPPA
Munzy meets the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — not through an exemption, but because we fundamentally do not collect, process, or store personal data. Without data collection, there's no processing requiring a legal basis under Art. 6 GDPR, and no collection of data from children under 13 that would require prior parental consent under COPPA — the triggering event simply never occurs on our end.
Your rights
Because all data stays local, you're always in control of it. You can change it in the app or remove it completely by deleting the app.
Read-aloud
The sentences Munzy reads out are finished recordings shipped with the app. They were produced with a synthetic voice. Nothing leaves the device when Munzy reads: it simply plays a bundled file.
